The Long Winter
I wrote this yesterday in about an hour. It wasn’t meant to be overly dramatic but about halfway through the song, I couldn’t help it. I felt that apprehension you get near the end where you just want it to be done with already. It ends like it begins…quiet.

Convention
I hate designating music into genres. It was devised by the recording industry so it would be easier to catalogue items. At the turn of the 20th century musicians were getting together in all sorts of new ways and creating all sorts of new genres. The recording industry came along and destroyed that because it was tough to market. So they created ‘black music’ and ‘white...
Xestential
Sometimes I like to focus on such themes as dread, boredom, alienation, the absurd, freedom, commitment, and nothingness as fundamental to human existence.
When I do, interesting things always come up.
For Mary

I love RnB. I love doing the beats but it just isn’t the same without the singer. To me, RnB is all about the rhythm, the song and especially the singer. A great singer can take an ordinary song to a whole new place.
So whenever I do a beat, I always imagine the singer being there. I usually end up putting in a lead that sounds an awful a lot like a singer. I...
Traffick
It’s amazing how something can be so frustrating and stressful when you aren’t moving at all.
Rush hour has a beat all it’s own. It’s fast and irregular. Going up one second then going down the next. You’re moving but it still feels like you’re going nowhere.
Then, there seems to be some break and you’re finallly moving. It’s temporary though....
Colors

Most of the time when I listen to music, I want to hear a groove.
Sometimes though, all I want to hear is the tones. It doesn’t matter how much is going on (usually the less the better), I’m just happy listening to the sounds.
It’s like looking at a painting just for the pleasure of seeing the colors. Seeing how the colors interact and the...
The Future Is...
in your hands.
I’m not going to blow any smoke or tell you to any ‘secret’ crap.
Get up, decide, work.
Enjoy.
The Road Less Travelled
I think that we were made to travel. Sometimes I’m sure I leave the house just to get some movement in the day.
Mostly, there’s the desire to go places and meet people that see the world completely different than I do. Then there’s the music…
Travel is good for the soul.
Rain
It rained all day today. The kind of rain you see bouncing up from the ground like it’s dimented. Brutal. There was no cheering up the day so why not go with it.
I like depressing music better than happy tunes. I write better depressing music. Happy music is always a chore for me.
Down Beat
I’ve been listening to some UK downbeat type stuff lately so I wrote this. I actually started it yesterday so it’s been more than a day but who’s counting?
It’s mostly about the big drums but I threw in some pysch guitar for some flavor.

Today's Work
I’ve been working on a flamenco album for quite a while. I’m still writing songs even though I have more than enough tunes already. The tough part is trying to capture what’s in your head.
Here’s one I wrote today in a couple of hours. I’m not sure about it but I thought I’d upload it now…mistakes and all.
Soundscape 130
Here’s a track I started last night. It’s pretty much done but had to upload before the end of the day.
It’s called ‘Soundscape 130’. Don’t look to me for clever names. Most of my tunes start out this way. Enjoy.
Some Days
I work on music everyday. Some days the muse are generous, some days they go off to play somewhere else. Either way it’ll be here for all to see hear.
